temple kitchen
all hail the chai "mylk" at Temple in South Miami.
I'll try just about any vegan place (so if you know of one and haven't seen it covered on here, please email me at editormiaminice@gmail.com!), so yesterday I made it over to one on my list and gave Temple in South Miami a try.
The food was good and the menu was easy to digest, sometimes, even for a farro and beet, fennel and grapefruit, tofu lover like myself, you can find yourself feeling like you're reading another language, or maybe something purposefully crafted to make normal eaters feel unwelcome. The menu at Temple was nice and easy, the people were friendly and quick to recommend something for my friend and I to share and the mylks were on sale (2 for $10, which is a crazy deal compared to other juice and smoothie places) and so we can two of those a try.
The curry was stand-out, I would order it again. Infact, next time I go to Temple, it will almost certainly be the curry for me. But it was the Chocolate and Date cashew and hep mylk and the chia mylk that really stood out. It was a decadent treat, without the stomach-ache and sugar rush that comes with a real milkshake of the same size.
Now all I have to do is pray that next time I visit they have the same special going on!
