woody Allen's Midnight in Paris is romantic and nostalgic, all while poking fun at romance and nostalgia in a way that reminds us of- well, Woody Allen, how he used to be. The film, starring a whole list of big names including Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard and Rachel McAdams, is an ode to a city, a quirky neurotic romance and a time-traveling fantasy in the vein of Allen's older films.

Owen Wilson plays a screenwriter nostalgic for the Paris of the past on vacation with his fiance, Rachel McAdams, and her family, working on a seemingly doomed novel about a man who works at a nostalgia shop. One drunken night the clock strikes midnight and he finds himself rubbing elbows with his idols of a time long gone. I don't want to name drop here because half the fun of this movie is watching Kathy Bates, Adrien Brody and others pop up as recognizable loonies of the twenties.

Midnight In Paris is finally open in Miami (Grove Paragon, AMC Sunset Place, Regal South Beach and more) after limited runs in other cities with better luck and its perfect to make you want to be an active member of our time and for a date night where you stroll the streets and talk about shmoopy romantic things after (don't forget bug spray) and don't bother getting nostalgic for the Miami of the past (like what? the 80's?) because we all know the golden time for us is now.
