about that swim week thing
contributing editor S.Darna, who was covering Fashion Swim Week Miami (or whatever order it was) from the front row, gets a little writing shy. The girl send me pictures, tips, and forwards me e-mails like no one else but I can't get her to write. So I tricked her. I asked her to send me an e-mail with her wrap up thoughts and that I would write something up. But I lied. It's better this way, straight from her mouth and without the journalist jargon that muddles up what people really think. Here are excerpts from her top secret e-mail to me and some great iphone pics she snapped from up front:
(and here she is... isn't she the cutest? fun fact: S is the only editors face to make it up on miami nice. Do you remember when?)
Marysia’s show was superr cool though. They had these straw hats you would love and they color palate was white grey and beige, and there was a lot of knit. So pretty.
Lisa Maree and Nicolita were my favs.
I’m sad they didn’t mention anything about Nicolita, the Cuban designer with cono que lindo bags - that came packed with agua de violeta perfume, yuca and plantain chips, café bustello and this dulce de leche pastry called “la cubanita” btw hah the best. And the show started off with miami nice fave Cyprus hill jam and they played lots of celia, and other Cuban hits I can’t identify. Her stuff wasn’t the cutest, but it was soo funn.
The goodie bags on Monday were sweeeet and we sat front row in most of the shows, did I tell you? hah like if im important or something it was so cool.
Oh and what these articles don’t mention is how unbearably HOT it was .. thank god for the DHL’s personal fans.. like the ones you buy at Disney that you wear like a lanyard.. minus the mister though – thatd be sweet.
here are some articles S.Darna duh up from the Daily's coverage of the events (The Daily btw is the fashion trade magazine of all runway shows): http://www.dailyfrontrow.com/scene/article/floridas-finest-our-swim-week-awards, http://www.dailyfrontrow.com/scene/article/molto-miami, http://www.dailyfrontrow.com/scene/article/coming-through-miami
