if you are confused by Maison Martin Margiela you probably aren't alone, and if you've never heard of Maison Martin Margiela (link is the wiki page) you aren't alone either. The Margiela store crept into Miami's Design District as yet another pop up store, but all they'll say is they're here for "However long it takes to find our dream home... Yet temporary this location is!" So, either you are more confused about whether they're trying to maintain their mysterious image or you think this is a bad translation from French.

The Miami store is really as much a museum of curiosity as a store.  Every thing in there is like being in a Tim Burton film about high fashion; the streamlined white and black denim skinny jeans are cuffed at the bottom not just a few inches, but all the way to the knee, the necklaces hung on the end of the clothes racks as accessory ideas are made of a blond braid of human hair, the shoes are sky high and the whole store is swathed in his iconic lab coat white. If you're wondering what you could buy at the store the answer is probably nothing; the prices are museum worthy, but the pieces are surprisingly wearble, shockingly the menswear even more than the womens.

I have a few fun facts listed below, the links to more information are embedded and there are some pictures at the bottom of the post, but this pop up shop is worth a little investigation.
Whether or not we can fully understand what the Margiela team is trying to do a trip to the store at 4040 NE 2nd Ave.

-Marigela's fashion shows were held in the slums or rundown warehouses
-he never makes a public appearance, consider his the anti-Karl
-he is considered a leader in the avant-garde fashion movement and a deconstructionist
-he has more than a dozen different "labels," even though the physical labels are blank on the clothes except for a number to identify which label they belong to.
