during yesterday's Art Walk in the design district was were it's at. Around 2nd ave and 25th Street was like being on a vacation, in Miami, full of all the Miami glory... but better. There were indoor spaces, outdoor spaces, graffiti, mixed media, photography, sculpture, giant painted cans with cartoon faces on them cleverly called "pop stars" and "coke heads," lots of Cuban and Latin artists represented, airplant necklaces (more on that later), Shepherd Fairy (you know, the guy that made the Obama HOPE poster), Wynwood walls and lots of other great, great stuff.

The weather was breezy, the people were happy, the booze was flowing (and benefiting a great cause, WOW the Women of Wynwood, an organization that gives homeless women jobs in the galleries), and the art was nothing short of nice. If you didn't make it last night be sure to go to the next one on August 14th.

From top to bottom: An outdoor art exibition, one wall of Wynwood Walls, Living art at Plant the Future by Paloma Teppa, and a really boyish painting at a gallery that didn't have air conditioning, but was awesome.
