cinema miami

adaptation: Everglades, Kaufman, Streep, and flowers. As far as I'm concerned it doesn't get much better than this in a film. It's questionable whether writer Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Synecdoche, New York, Being John Malkovich) was totally sane when he wrote himself into Adaptation, but I don't really care. I would recommend Adaptation to anyone, even though I don't think everyone will understand or appreciate it, but I don't really care about that either. It's my favorite Miami movie because it is so unconventionally Miami, right when you think that its pretty nice (it is largely a story about orchids) you find that even those have their vice.
