The Other Kind of Hammock, Alice Wainwright Park

there are two kinds of hammocks, the kind you take naps in and the kind that Alice Wainwright Park is - a tropical hardwood hammock. Hardwood hammocks, like this one and Simpson Park, just down the street, are canopy forests. Alice Wainwright's limestone, open space, and vegetation are a look at how all of Brickell once appeared. 

Now that Brickell City Center is open with its outdoor-air conditioning technology and fancy schmancy shops, Alice Wainwright Park is the perfect place to retreat to a simpler time with a picnic and a smuggled in six pack.
