it's been in my head that I want home made ice cream to be "my thing." I don't know if I'm delirious from the heat or whether it's actually a nice idea, but the delirium didn't stop me from my first go at it. 

I wanted to make good old-fashioned, creamy, whole milk ice cream for my first stab at it, despite my mostly dairy-free refrigerator. So, I turned to Queen Martha (no offense GOOP, you ma girl). 

So, no point in rewriting a recipe that isn't mine. Here's the link. I couldn't recommend it more. 

Turns out, ice cream making is a multi-step, but not particularly tedious, process. The only prohibitive element is that you need an ice cream maker. I recommend you do what I did if you don't have one, put out a Facebook call to borrow one from your friend's mom.
