conch fritter after conch fritter after conch fritter can get old, eventually. That's why The Mindful Mermaid, a health food cafe in Key Largo is such a find. That's why when it poppped up on my Google maps while I hangrily explored where to get a lunch that wouldn't leave me needing a nap, I pulled a sharpe U-turn and headed right over.

The Florida Key's go-to's are take out BBQ, gas station Mexican, and all the fresh fish we can guzzle down, ut The Mindful Mermaid is a refreshing change. Juices, wraps, smoothies, salads, burgers and so much more is on the menu at this quaint cafe. The egg salad sandwich, a tried and true classic, was delicious, filling and flavorful, plus it was huge.

I'll be back soon, because even in 50 visits you probably couldn't try everything on this menu.
