life hack: mango edition

i've been introduced to the idyllic life of picking a mango a day from my backyard and I don't know if I'll ever be able to go back to grocery store mangos. Soon they'll all be ripe and it will be more than a mango a day, and that's when it's time to get creative (mango bread anyone?!), but for now I'm relishing in eating them nice and plain.

This way of slicing a mango has changed my life. Seriously. I used to dread peeling a mango because of the sticky juice and skilled knife work required, but not life is easy peasy. Just slice off the sides of the mangos and score like if you were drawing a grid on the flesh with your knife. Then push through the skin like you're turning it inside out and voila!
