the next book club is on March 25th, 6 PM at Cafe Curuba. The first meeting was super nice.

We had seven people -including one Cafe Curuba patron who'd been working at the cafe all day and was roped into the meeting without any idea of what he was signing up for. Thanks for staying Alejandro! If you want to sign up to play the role that Alejandro invented of "Outsider Who Hasn't Read The Book But Asks Insightful Questions," please do let us know, it turned out to be a big asset.

The group was mostly strangers, so if you're a stranger (or not, hi Ashley from Stanzione87 - maybe one day we have a pizza party book club?) please get reading. The next book is The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, chosen by Cafe Curuba's own Debbie, who is using this as an excuse to get around to a book she's been long meaning to read. I'm really, really enjoying the book so far. I got a massage at The Biltmore on Valentine's Day and my masseuse told me it was necessary for me to take a bath once a week with Himalayan Sea Salts and I take the word of older Scandinavian women seriously, so I just took a bath and read fifty pages of my book and I recommend you do the same.

As if you needed just one more push to make it to the book club, Debbie at Cafe Curuba is the best host there ever was and she provided us with some sweet treats like her soon-to-be-famous guayaba pan de bono. If you've never been to Cafe Curuba, you're really missing out - it's basically the nicest ever and I can't recommend it any more highly.

See you at the book club on March 25th - I'll be the one with the almond cappuccino and book marked with Post Its.
