a taqueria on flager

I don't mess around with Mexican. I'm loyal to cheap Mexican restaurants and basically refuse to pay for fancy-schmancy Mexican - if it's not a real hole-in-the-wall or in a gas station, I'm not that into it.

Luckily, I have a friend who understands my enthusiasm for cheap Mexican food and he steered me towards Jacalito Taqueria on Flagler, right off of 37th Ave. Another thing I feel strongly about? Sampler platters. Always go with the sampler platter. It's the best way to try the things they want you to try and get a well-rounded taste (plus they're always huge!).

Jacalito was delicious - the nachos were great, the guacamole delicious, the tacos were the real standout and next time I go I'll skip the sampler platter and get three different tacos again (that's allowed on the second visit / it's still a taco sampler). Sit outside, just twenty feet off of busy Flagler - it's no gas station, but it's nice enough.
