c. Madeline's is a dizzying experience. But if you're a fashion enthusiast of any kind and haven't visited this, no joke, historic place - clear your calendar and give yourself at least five hours to sort through the history of American clothing. The store is, loosly, organized into decades and styles. Organized isn't really the right word, because the store has a kind of Grey-Gardens-in-a-warehouse-in-Aventura-vibe.

Natalie Joos, who writes a great blog on vintage fashion, calls it her favorite store and that seriously means something. She travels the world professsionally and her favorite store is right here on 137th and Biscayne. They have a no pictures policy, and honestly, the prospect of organizing any kind of shoot there is so overwhelming that I had to leave this one to the pros.
