isaac farms' succulent selection is super nice
someone recently asked me about museums in Miami dedicated to specific topics. Like, small, little museums exploring one theme or era. I told them there's the Goldcoast Railroad Museum, HistoryMiami, the Dezer Collection (an antique car museum) and the little Cuban museum on Coral Way - but I should have mentioned Isaac Farms, which is, by no means actually a museum, but definitely a super thorough collection of succulents of all varieties.
If you're anything like me, you have a serious succulent obsession and give a big laugh to the prices at West Elm (the theives are charging $8 for an AIRPLANT! Hahaha!) - if you feel me on this, you have to go to Isaac Farms - and carve out a good hour or two to explore. This nursery is beautiful if not a bit overwhelming. There are greenhouses and greenhouses and greenhouses with succulents, succulents and more succulents. If you're less the DIY type and more the buy-it-made type, you can buy already planted and styled arrangements that range from small and affordable to large statement pieces.
A few months ago I was there, wandering the tiny cactus section, and there was a Vogue shoot going on just a few feet away.
Stop and get a strawberry milkshake at one of the many farmstands in Homestead (last time I got tamales too, but my car smelled really serious when I got back inside, so I don't totally recommend that) and then go explore Isaac Farms and stock up for all those DIYs you've been meaning to get around to. Make it your New Year's Resolution.
