i was recently featured in a program by Kenneth Cole about tastemakers around the country, and it was a real honor to be featured in New York Magazine and super hooked up (to put it in Miami terms) by the Kenneth Cole team. During an interview, I was asked about a trend in Miami that I can see going main-stream. My answer? The mochila.

I don't think the mochila has hit the tipping point yet in Miami, I think this summer we're going to see a whole slew of girls who look like they just got back from hiking the jungle in Colombia or Ecuador, and I totally dig the trend. It's a bit bohemian, a bit traditional and totally Latin-American.

There are a few companies who are putting their own spins on the mochila - my favorite? The Miss Mochila bags features on Shop Latitude, a clever little website that lets you shop the globe's best artisanal products.
