delpozo makes a home in the Design District, vale!
fashion Week is in full force in New York and if you've been following at all you've heard the buzz about Spanish-label Delpozo. All the cool fashion girls are going wild for the modern femininity with the heavy hand of a haute couture label and the streamlined modernity of a contemporary designer. A while back I confidently declared that I love Delpozo about as much as all the other Spanish exports that are near and dear to my heart - queso manchego! Jamon serrano! Tortilla! Penelope Cruz!
Looks like Delpozo likes Miami too.
The label's first store outside of Madrid covertly opened in the Design District. The space feels at once open and streamlined and decadent. Details like gold, geometric clothes racks and display cases and a marble cash wrap are designed by the label's designer Josep Font, a trained architect.
The world of Delpozo is a world where a dress can take up to 24 hours for the beading alone (see the third picture from the bottom), where black tie comes by way of ten pound orange pants with colorful sequin fauna, and every piece is something special and feels collectible.
The store is off the main stretch where you'll find Margiela, Marni, Louboutin and all those other ultra-high end stores that call the District home, but it's still right in walking distance.
Oh, did we mention they have gowns and wedding dresses too? And fascinators! Ugh, I could live here.
