derek lam's spring/summer collection looks like our winter

derek Lam made an appearance at Neiman at Coral Gables and our nice friends there invited us to meet him and peep in on a glimpse at his latest line for his more casual line, 10 Crosby Derek Lam. Lam is from Northern California, and talked a bit about how the weather there influences his designs, and he talked about how he's inspired by the Miami girl.

Derek Lam said he thinks about what a girl in Miami would wear from his collection while designing his resort-heavy line. We'd like to see Miami reciprocate the feelings and start dressing in his sharp, tailored activewear. He spoke about his affinity for the sweatshirt, but it was the more traditional takes on menswear fabrics and unusal dresses that looked like they might be two pieces that stole our hearts.

This collection is resortwear for everyone else, but separates including shorts with matching jackets, light trench coats, and light silk sleeves look more like #sweatywinter to us. Thanks for the winter inspiration from your summer line Derek Lam, come back to Coral Gables soon.
