pB Steak, isn't a new, new restaurant anymore, at least not at the speed that restaurants open and close around here, but it is the latest in the growing Pubbelly food empire.

The menu is a little tamer than some of the other Pubbelly spots, a little less "Screaming Orgasm" (seared big eye tuna, ponzu, daikon and masago roe) at Pubbelly Sushi or Duck and Pumpking Dumplings at Pubbelly, and a little more raw bar and steak plates to share. It doesn't mean that the signature Pubbelly flair is gone, because puh-leeze, that would be so boring, and these menus are never, ever boring, even Italian and Spanish food at Macchialina and Barceloneta are done with a little extra oomph. There are plenty of Pubbelly-y items on the menu, especially under the "Plates To Share" portion, where Steak Tartar Sliders, French Onion Soup Dumplings, and Pork Cheek Ravioli are just three of the can't-miss dishes. And, this is a new restaurant and we are on South Beach, so there has to be a little extra pimp section. The "Pimp It Up" part of the menu offers some, ahem, indulgent add-ons for the steaks including foie gras mousse, roasted bone marrow and black truffle braised shortrib.

As usual with the Pubbelly menus, go hungry. If you're a glutton like me, you'll want to try as many of these tapas -style plates as you can.

There's plenty to say about the Americana-inspired decor, the great cocktails and the chalkboard walls, but really, as always, it's about the food at the Pubbelly restaurants and now that I've mentioned about half the menu, I know you want to go. So go ahead, eat yourself into a food coma, just don't say I didn't warn you
