if you're not so much a fan of boom boxes blaring reggeaton and are kind of a fan of quiet surrounded by men in Speedos, check out Bal Harbour Beach. This quiet alternative to the busier beaches is considered semi-private (but what isn't nowdays, amiright?) and is tucked away behind the big swanky resort hotels across the street from the mall. It's a beautiful beach with water that seems clearer than some of the southernmore beaches and a turquoise bridge that adds a pretty little something to look at. The beach has a lot of those spicky span white umbrellas from the hotels, but there aren't too many and they probably won't cramp your style. There's a jetty that goes a bit into the water, which is a unique feature and gives you a little something extra to do while you're there. There were some people fishing off of it, but that's probably illegal.

Park under the expressway and head over to the quiet beach adjacent to the nude/dog friendly Haulover Beach - where there's definitely more to look at than surf and sand and a few middle aged men in Speedos.
