if you aren't listening to WVUM what the heck are you listening to? We have the best college radio station in the country, yo. There's no official stat that says that, but in 2011 they won the mtvU's Woodie Award for Best College Radio Station and that counts for something.
The kids at WVUM, totally manned by UM student DJs, are fighting a tough battle in the world of reggeaton and non-stop Nikki Minaj, but they aren't afraid to give a stern no to a bad request on the All Request Show. It's a cruel world out there and fighting the good fight for good taste isn't an easy one, but they're making it happen at WVUM. While most of the University is benefitting from new facilities, the WVUMers are hanging on proud to their kind of beat up digs. The technology looks, for the most part, like it's out of the 70's or 80's and that's because, for the most part, it is. The walls are lined with CDs that make up just a smidgen of their whole collection.
