amanda Del Duca is the brains and beauty behind Capture Fashion, a Miami based fashion blog that really feels unfair to call a blog. It's more like the most amazing self produced editorial/very elaborate excuse to play dress up website. We'll let her tell you more about it...

Before we get into the good stuff, lets get the nitty gritty out of the way, who are you and what do you do? You know, the basics.

My name is Amanda Del Duca and I run Miami's premier fashion blog, CaptureFashion.com. I have been blogging for a little over year and cover several types of content. I document my own personal style, as well as, create and produce my own fashion editorials. I interview local tastemakers and occasionally will cover exclusive events.

Woah, I’m looking at your “Collar Coordination” shoot right now and it’s just so crazy good. Let’s talk a bit about that and your other, most involved, shoots.

Thank-you! Collar Coordination is one of my most successful shoots. The editorial content I can only do twice a month, or even less, if I do a really involved shoot with a couple models or on location. Basically I have always wanted to work as a creative director at a fashion magazine, but because of my age and just a few years of work experience in the fashion industry - that just wasn't happening in the immediate future. So, I decided to make my own fashion spreads in the meantime. Almost like practice to be honest. They started small - just me as the model, my boyfriend David taking the photos, my best friend Ian doing my makeup and then just borrowing every piece of clothing I could get my hands on. Eventually, the shoots got bigger and more people wanted to be involved. Now, it's amazing - I have shoots booked through the summer.

Casa de las Viejas?!  How awesome are places like that in Downtown (have you been to

Nunez Fabrics

?) and all over Miami? Do you have any other little gems that you’d share?

I stumbled upon Casa de las Viejas when picking up some accessories for a styling job I did last summer. I randomly walked in to search for my next stop on my phone and ended up staying for an hour and buying a ton of stockings. That is a tip! I buy all my stockings there - so cheap and the most perfect sheer black hose. I really like Haus Fashion in Wynwood, I scored those insane glitter heels there a few weeks ago for $40.

What’s the relationship with your photographer and makeup artist it seems to be a really collaborative and experimental process… can you tell me a bit about how you guys work?

By force! I'm kidding. Well, my photographer David is my boyfriend. We actually started everything together. He was always interested in photography, but never really practiced. I was a writer who just quit her job and wanted to start a blog. I asked him to take a few photos of me in some new outfits to see what happened, next thing we are planning location shoots and studying fashion photography. It happened really naturally. All my hair and makeup contributors are my friends. Miami Beach is quite small, and working as a fashion writer I met a lot makeup artists and hair stylists - then pretty much begged them for their time in exchange for images for their portfolios. I was surprised how many people wanted to be involved.

Photos are such an important part of personal style blogs, and you have some really great photos of casual Shake Shack outings and more editorial shots, most recently, of shaving your legs in sparkly heels. Are there photographers that you admire? And how did you figure out what style would work for you and Capture Fashion?

David and I knew that photography was going to play a big role about 6 months in. There are so many fashion blogs now, and I noticed the ones I admired had exceptional photos. Also, great design. Those two things we wanted to nail and wanted to help set Capture Fashion apart from the pack. Of course, fashion is the priority, but the design and photography are what makes the garments shine.

Our style is constantly evolving, but I would like to think that we are settling into a certain aesthetic. I am inspired many photographers. I really like what Mert & Marcus are doing right now with color though. I adore their recent work.

Most of (right?) your pictures are in Miami, do you have a bucket list of places that you want to shoot but haven’t gotten around to yet? Any where you would most definitely avoid?

The only places I avoid are the boring. Miami is almost never boring, so I would say nothing is off-limits here. I really want to shoot more in the Everglades. And New Orleans! We are going to Sweden in the summer for three weeks, I'm really looking forward to documenting that environment,

Let’s talk more about Miami, real Miami, like Miami private high school style. Where are your favorite places to shop, most importantly where are your favorite secret places to shop?

Haha, well since I credit everything on my blog you can figure out where I shop the most (Jessie Boutique), but there are some spots I don't mention enough.

Top Picks:

Ricky's NYC for nail polish and hair products

Atrium for bikinis

ALEXIS for anything and everything in the summer

LF for shoes

Gold Saturn for headpieces

Favorite place to people watch?

The Betsy Hotel on Ocean Drive at BLT for brunch.

Best hole-in-the-wall to grab a bite? Drink?

Bite, La Sandwicherie. Drink, The Fox Hole.

Any Miamians you find particularly stylish?

Local stylist and my personal friend Rachael Russell is impossibly chic. I really dig Jillian Sanz style as well.
