oye!
if you've yet to stop by OYE Cuban Grill- oye, what are you waiting for?
This past Thursday OYE held it's official grand opening, and a grand time it was. The Cuban-American restaurant is a contemporary spin on old Cuban favorites. It's fresh food fast, not fast food, and Thursday's menu of wine, beer, and hors d'oeuvres including giant-monster-five-bite-croquettas, ceviche, mini wraps, meatballs and cafesito, was a tiny taste of the super long list of delicious choices on the OYE menu (including some stuff that's actually healthy, and everything fresh).
A band played, locals danced and everyone hung out in an ambiente that was both comfortable and cool.
OYE is a welcomed fresh take on something so familiar. It's kind of a wonder that no one has really done what the Gutierrez family, helmed by their young entrepreneurial son Hector Ian, has; it's a mish-mash of influences that are hard to pin-point, maybe between Versailles, Chipotle and a chic, modern restaurant made for stylish young urbanites and family folk alike.
What really matter though, isn't that they have a cute cafesito bar at the front of the restaurant, big flat screen TVs, and live music weekly, what matters is that oye, the food is really amazing.
