the artist at coral gables art cinema

the artist has totally quietly been getting Oscar buzz, not only because it's yet to be seen in South Florida until now at the Coral Gables Art Cinema, but because it's a silent film. This trailer, complete with the Chips Ahoy song and the high drawn in chonga  eyebrows that look glamourous and not chonga like, is an ode to a time past that looks absolutely awesome. 

If you roll your eyes at songs about Christmas with lyrics like "it's that time of year when the world falls in love," (download the She & Him Christmas CD, it's an acoustic retro take) because, what the heck, it's just December. A date night to see this film might just do the trick for you. What's more romantic than a man with a cute pup and chonga eyebrows?
