the local
the Local, a relatively new "craft food and beer" restaurant in Downtown Coral Gables, has quickly gone from a quiet place to grab a table and a beer you can't find anywhere else on a Friday night, to another packed happy hour see-and-be-seen spot for the after work crowd- that doesn't mean we're not still big fans, just that others are now too. It's a classic problem, especially in this town where the news spreads fast and trends are very sticky (think: Whisk's ascent from a tiny catering company to a bumpin' South Miami cougar prowling ground, again, still good though). It's like when you think you've discovered a band and it quickly is one of four songs played on Y-100... anyway, I digress.
If you hit up The Local, try the cheese trays, written daily up on their specials chalk board and the fritas. Other than that, it's hard to recommend a specific item as the menu changes quite a bit. Hopefully, The Local won't change with the menus or what's trendy in Miami, and will stay crafty.
Check out The Local's Friday happy hour, half off all beer.
