katsuya's a comin'

katsuya, which is apparently one of those LA restaurants that frequent the "spotted" sections of tabloids, but actually has really delicious food too, is opening a new outpost in Midtown. While it should be fun to have more great sushi in Miami, the thought that the expansion of the chain is to Miami and Las Vegas is a little cringe-worthy, why must we be lumped together? Anyone else feel weird about that?

The Philippe Starck design is traditionally a pairing of stark (bad word play, bad) whites and giant red lips that belong to Japanese girls. Fingers crossed that the Miami restaurant looks as radical as this one, because what's better than eating while looking at a giant girl's mouth with perfect lipstick?
