whisk is up and running
we talked about Whisk when it was a tiny catering company gone lunch hot spot next to Havana Harry's. We waited patiently for construction to finish on the new South Miami location. We got to have lunch there for free on a test run, and now it's open for realizies.
I write this on a belly full of their burritos and fried green tomatoes.
The new Whisk is an impressive upgrade from the tiny, crowded, and delicious old location. I used to call ahead and take-out because I didn't want to have to wait for one of the five or six tables. Their new home has expanded what must be five-fold, at least, and seating is no longer a worry- yet. There's bar seating, communal tables, a small room with one table, and an adjacent extra dining room. I have no doubt that even with all this extra seating it's still only a matter of time before there's a line again.
But, while you wait you'll be able to sip on beer and wine as soon as the license goes through. You'll probably need a brew or two after the headache of finding parking, but the food is good, the space is beautiful, and the people are nice. So, head over to Whisk, give yourself some time to find parking, and get the fried green tomatoes.
