farm stores

the farm stores (aka: la vaquita, aka: the cow) is one awesome miami delight. a drive-thru convenience store, i mean talk about convenience!

last year some friends of mine from the northeast came down to miami for vacation, i casually drove to la vaquita for some drive-thru beers and grits and they were astonished. they thought it was like sooo chilllennnn to grab beer on the road in your car. and there, my gratitude for having la vaquitas around my whole life (from my upbringing in the gables to pinecrest) grew tremendously. yeah, my friends are right, farm stores are mad cool!

i use to go for rocky road ice cream, milk and their awesome loaf of cheesy bread. now i go for grit specials, beers, economical (cheap is an ugly word) vino and ice bags... all 'no need to lift a finger' friendly. speak spanish with the always surprisingly pleasant employees and they'll hook you up with the farm store deals.

...on the down side: word on the street says they're are slowing closing! noooooo. the farm stores cannot close down! its so unique and so convenient and so miami.
