figuring out the food sitch?
if you're still at home right now and are about to make a Publix run for BBQ food for today, well, first God bless you because it'll probably take like thirty hours to get through that red white and mess, but second you should check out the Cooking Channel's website for some recipes. Hot dogs are gross mystery meat, chips sit in those bags for so long its creepy, try and make something fresh and delicious. Buy local for today and celebrate our nearby farmers who are still doing that "one with the land" thing, and getting dirty to keep our food clean, and our air clean by taking it somewhere close instead of putting it on an airplane for a market in Wisconsin.
The Cooking Channel is a new project by the Food Network (who doesn't love the people who brought us Emeril's BAMs and Iron Chef) for foodies by foodies, but more importantly it's for young people and their origional programming is fresh and funky and fun, watch Chuck's Day Off for dream-boat chef Chuck in all his tatted glory whips up fun recipes for his friends on his day off, or watch Mo Rocca host Food(ography) and learn all about ice cream or BBQ... what could be more American than that?
