tap tap

todays posts are clearly turning out to be iphone themed (I am crazy jelly of those who were smart enough to pre-order and have it shipped), but this kind of tapping has nothing to do with iphones (or kegs).

Tap Tap restaurant on Miami Beach is another kind of wonderful. I'd driven by this Haitian joint a million times before finally committing a night's culinary experience to experimentation. More importantly than the food to me was how deliciously cute and authentic this place looks from the outside (although it's not totally devoid of the sketch factor, parking is a little big Fear Factor). But, the food didn't let me down, I went in knowing I was going to be adventurous and we basically just asked them to bring us the most authentic dishes they could. They have live music, delicious deserts and wine and after I found out that a tap tap is what they call the local transportation in Haiti (do you always think of Cher in Clueless calling them Haiti-ans?) and that they look this awesome, not only do I want to go back to Tap Tap but I want to go ride in one too:
