marlins vuvuzelas make some noise
As I’m sure you’ve heard, vuvuzela night at Sun Life Stadium Saturday made a lot of noise (2 puns, 1 sentence). The staple noise-maker of the 2010 World Cup was used by the Marlins Marketing staff as their Saturday give-away agasint the Rays. I know its annoying, but not as annoying as cowbells for an entire post-season (see Tampa Bay Rays World Series run). So don’t complain, Joe Maddon, “They’re annoying. I mean, there’s cool things and there’s very non-cool things. That’s a non-cool thing….It just doesn’t make any sense.” Yea you’re right Joe, my bad, the Marlins should’ve passed out cowbells. I thought it was a fun, memorable, topical tool to use to promote the team, and the Marlins need as many fans as they can get to fill that stadium, cause apparently baseball fans are hard to come by down here. At least it wasn’t like silver pom-pom night last year (where fans were given poorly constructed silver pom poms, which naturally evolves into silver pom pom strands all over the field).
